lodis is a hackerspace for people who want to work on projects alongside others. it was started in the beginning of april 2019
lodis: a Swedish word roughly translating to vagabond, bum, hobo—in a sort of affectionate sense
as a hackerspace lodis is closed for members, but the public is regularly invited to participate in larger organized events, like unconferences and movie nights.
as of writing, lodis has hosted 10 public events
attending events
if you are attending an event being held at lodis, you can ring the bell to get inside
To read about our social rules, the membership procedure, and other details see our values document.
principles
lodis is a space for people who want to- create projects independently...
- ...and hang out with others while doing so.
- work towards a world with greater equality
- work on non-commercial projects
- explore ideas and see where they end up
inspirations
lodis is inspired by the recurse center in nyc, making projects, the now-defunct malmö hackerspace forskningsavdelningen, late-night chats with friends, the web in the early 00s, fika, loud trance & soft conversations
accessibility
there are no thresholds to get in (we can open a large gate) but the space is a bit small. the bathroom isn't wheelchair accessible. the space can be a bit cold. if you have more questions you can email us at least a day in advance of visiting.
